Pre-School

Welcome to Room 2 & 3 Pre-School
Our Pre-school program is divided into 2 specific age groups, each with their own learning environment.
Room-2 Junior Pre-school, is licensed for 16 children between the ages of 2.6 & 3.8 years.
Room-3 Senior Pre-school, is licensed for 16 children between the ages of 3.8 & 5 years.

Our teams of Registered Early Childhood Educators provide a warm and loving environment, which nurtures each child to grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.
Our centre provides a safe and caring play-based child-initiated learning environment. In the classroom, both child-initiated free play and structured play-based learning opportunities are provided. The Ministry of Education, Child Care and Early Years Act has created a document, “How Does Learning Happen, Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years”. This tool/document will be used within the Day Care Centre to guide the teachers when programming. The purpose of this tool/document is to ensure high quality experiences are happening on a daily basis, which will lead to positive outcomes in relation to children’s learning, development, health and well-being.

To establish a solid foundation for learning, the teams will provide a variety of hands-on, concrete materials, tools and equipment for children to engage in different forms of play, e.g., dramatic play, creative play, sensory, construction play, etc. Change and add materials, tools and equipment as needed. Allow children to be “in charge” of their play. Ask questions to enhance and expand children’s play. Monitor and observe their play.

We also incorporate numbers into our curriculum, which includes number recognition, how to print each number and counting skills.
